Nita Ambani

Born on 1st Novemver,1963 to a traditional Gujurati family; she has spent her childhood days at Prabhat Colony, Santa Cruz, Mumbai. Father was working with Birlas. They lived happily in a big Hindu joint family. A typical Gujurati joint family with uncles, aunts and cousins. It was here she had leant the hard lessons of life. She has grown up a normal Indian middle class childhood picking up the basics of family bond. Education used to be given the maximum priority with active encouragement for extra-curricular activities in the family. She learnt how to take care of a blind uncle and grand mother. She used to be Nita Dalal and now we all know her as Nita Ambani..
She had an avid passion for Bharat Natyam. Her family had all the support extended to her. Her mother had to drive up to Churchgate to take her for dance classes. She then had to catch trains to Matunga for grueling further sessions of dance. Perhaps it was her passion for dance which changed her course of life. Destiny smiled and said “Nita you have to play a bigger role in life”. Nita was performing dance during Navratri at Birla Matoshree. She was spotted by the senior Ambanis. Dhiribhai and wife Kokilaben thought that they located the right bride for their son Mukesh. The next day the boss Ambani called her and invited her at his office. The young Nita had to ponder and get surprised. Confused as she was, Dhirubhai requested her to meet Mukesh in their meeting. By the time, Nita had the sense of the purpose of the call. Thus destiny made them to meet. Meet again and over again. Mukesh proposed. It is said, Mukesh proposed when they were struck in a traffic jam. Hardly anything was audible. Mukesh insisted for an answer or he will not take the car forward. Nita had to oblige. Thus the story began. The story of the richest Indian couple
